Before your client or customer ever has an experience with you, your business, or your products, they are first seeing your brand in some form of an image, which can be either positive or negative. Boiling down to their first impression formed in their mind, with your brand. Your brand gives them a glimpse at what they will experience with you; it gives them expectations.
Now, branding is when that idea or image is marketed so that it easily recognizable by people. Think Starbucks and Mcdonald’s which are both globally known. What is the first image that pops into your mind? Is it green and white with a nautical character for Starbucks? As for Mcdonald’s, is it a yellow and red color palette with an iconic ‘M’? You got it! This is what branding is all about.
And why is it so important for your business? In today’s global market, there are so many companies offering the similar services and products as yours. There is a quote from C.G. Jung – “You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do”.
In other words, your brand is consumed through the direct experience your clients or customers have with your business, and not the indirect sales messages, public relations or advertising campaigns.
