Where is Sera Lo Design based?

We are currently based in Singapore.

What services do you provide?

Sera Lo Design is a boutique branding and design studio to create strategic, purposeful, and timeless design solutions for creatives and business owners all over the globe. Our services include Branding, Web Design & Development, Print Collateral, Digital Collateral, and Packaging.

I am interested in working with you, how do we get started?

Simply request for a complimentary consultation here to get the conversation started.

Next, we’ll either schedule a virtual consultation via Skype or an in-person consultation over a cup of coffee, if you’re in Singapore. During our consultation, we’ll learn more about your business, your design needs, and answer any questions you may have.

If we are good fit and you’d like to move forward, we’ll send you a contract and an invoice for the first 50% deposit, to book your slot on our studio’s project calendar.

When is your next availability to take on new projects?

Our next project opening is listed here. At Sera Lo Design, projects are booked on a first come, first serve basis. We only take in a limited number of projects per month, as we value quality over quantity. Our clients invested time in us and vice versa, to provide our undivided attention and quality assurance are our top priorities.

The number of projects accommodated may also vary at different times of the year. If you’re interested in working with us, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to book your slot on our studio’s project calendar.

What happens once I become a client of Sera Lo Design?

Once the contract has been signed and the first 50% deposit has been paid, you’ll be officially booked on our studio’s project calendar. We’ll onboard you and your team members to our private project management tool, called Asana. This allows everyone to keep track of our assigned tasks, private conversations, keeping up with deadlines, and move work from start to finish.

Do you work with clients all over the globe?

Yes. One thing we do need to take into consideration is the possibility of time zone difference as we are currently based in Singapore (UTC +08:00). Nonetheless, with the existence of an advanced technology, it is extremely easy for us to work remotely whilst communicating during our project. So long you have access to the internet, we are good to go.

Do you travel for projects?

Generally, we don’t. Due to the nature of our work, it is extremely easy for us to work remotely whilst communicating during our project. If you’re interested in working with us and would like us to travel to your city throughout our project timeline instead, get in touch with us via email at contact@seralodesign.co to let us know what you have in mind.

Payment

What are your payment terms?

Our full payment terms will be stated in your contract for your review. All projects are billed into two separate payments, with a 50% deposit due at the time of contract signing, in order to book your slot on our studio’s project calendar. The remaining balance will be billed upon project completion and before we handover the final deliverable to you and/or transferring of your website.

The only exception is with our Creative Retainer Program, which is billed in full before any work begins. If you have any further concerns regarding our payment terms, get in touch with us via email at contact@seralodesign.co.

How do you accept payment?

We accept payments via PayPal for all clients. For our clients based in Singapore, you have additional options to send payment either via internet banking or cheque. If you have any further concerns regarding our payment methods, get in touch with us via email at contact@seralodesign.co.

Which currency is displayed on your website?

Currency displayed on our website is in Singapore Dollar — S$.

Why do you require a 50% deposit before we can get started on our project?

This is required to book your slot on our studio’s project calendar. At Sera Lo Design, projects are booked on a first come, first serve basis. We only take in a limited number of projects per month, as we value quality over quantity. Our clients invested time in us and vice versa, to provide our undivided attention and quality assurance are our top priorities.

Is my deposit refundable?

No. All deposits are non-refundable as it is our process of booking your slot on our studio’s project calendar. If you back out of the project, you may leave an empty slot on our studio’s project calendar that could have been given to another client.

Branding & Design

What software do you use to create design?

At Sera Lo Design, we start with sketches — pen to paper drawing. In the initial design phase, we let our creativity flow on its own, sketching out design concepts freely. After which, we’ll design using Adobe Creative Cloud software; Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, depending on the project type.

What is the difference between a logo and a brand identity?

A logo is a graphic image, motif or typographic element which is a part of your brand identity. A brand identity usually incorporates a primary logo, as well as other brand elements such as secondary logo, logo mark, color palette, typography, brand pattern/illustration. All of these visual elements make up your identity, and become your visual language that tells your brand story.

What is the difference between design concepts and revisions?

Design concepts can be thought of as a different design directions or different creative directions. Once you have revert with your preferred design concept and feedback, we then refine or revise your approved design concept. These are referred to as revisions and usually involve changes to a shape, font, color, and proportions.

What counts as a round of revision?

A round of revision refers to the action of us interpreting your feedback and putting it into action by presenting you either with a revised or a new design concept. To make the most out of each round of revision, we encourage you to compile all your feedback into one concise comment. This way, it not only saves us time, but also to ensure we are able to make all the necessary design refinements and send it back to you for your feedback and/or approval, before moving on to our next phase.

How will you handover the final deliverable to me?

Upon our project completion, you’ll receive all of your completed branded digital files via Google Drive, in our private shared folder. You’ll be well equipped with the right file types for both print and web usage, in the following formats — .ai, .png, .jpg, and .pdf.

Do you offer ongoing support after a branding project is completed?

Yes. We provide ongoing support, called Creative Retainer Program which is exclusively available for our current and/or past clients only. Web Design & Development

What platforms do you design for website?

The majority of our Web Design & Development projects are built on WordPress.org. If you’re seeking for an E-Commerce Website, we design for WooCommerce, as well as Shopify. If you have other specific platform in mind, get in touch with us via email at contact@seralodesign.co.

Will my website be responsive and mobile friendly?

Yes. Your website will be designed to be fully responsive, scale to fit any screen across desktop, tablet, and mobile.

What do I need to prepare before our web design & development project begins?

Before our project begins, you will need to set up your website domain, email address, social media accounts, website copy which includes text, photos, and videos. If you have any further questions, get in touch with us via email at contact@seralodesign.co.

What is a domain and why do I need a domain for my website?

Domain is created to make IP (Internet Protocol). To simplify, a domain name is “your home address”. For example, this page’s URL address is www.seralodesign.co/faq. Thus, the domain name is www.seralodesign.co.

Yes. We recommend our clients to sign up for a domain with Bluehost*, which is affordable and reliable with 24/7 expert chat support.

What is a web hosting and why do I need a hosting plan for my website?

Web hosting is a space on the internet for websites. To simplify, a web hosting is an “internet rent” which you’ll either pay a monthly or yearly fee to have a space in the world wide web. In order to build a website, a web hosting is required.

Yes. We recommend our clients to sign up for a web hosting plan with Bluehost*, which is affordable and reliable with 24/7 expert chat support. A one-click WordPress.org installation is also included in all accounts.

I already have a domain and/or web hosting plan, do you help with transferring?

If you’re client of Sera Lo Design, we are able to assist you with the transferring process. For more information, get in touch with us via email at contact@seralodesign.co.
